It's been months since I last updated this blog. I actually forgot my password!

A lot of things happened since my birthday (my last post was about my birthday dinner).   I already updated my name in SSS and Philheath.   Yey for that!   I also learned to drive, I have my license already.   The best thing that happened is I'm now pregnant.   Big Yey!   I'm now on my 17th week.

I came upon a client in one of our cocktail events who told me that pregnancy will change my life. I thought he was referring to having kids. We'll he was right.    I'm having a delicate pregnancy, I've been in and out of bedrests.   In fact I'm on a 1 month bedrest now.   I'll blog about my bedrest soon.   I've joined a forum for expectant moms, it helps really to read about what others are going through.   I've downloaded several applications in my Ipod Touch too about pregnancy.   My four favorites are: Baby Center's Pregnancy. What to Expect When Expecting, Baby Bump and I'm Expecting.

At Chef's Quarter

I celebrated my 1st birthday as Mrs. V last Thursday. The husband also took a leave =)

We had dinner at Chef's Quarter at the Atrium, Megamall. The food is great. We had Tessie Tomas Salad, Tiger Prawns and Fillet Minion. Yummy!

I was so excited to eat I forgot to take a picture of the salad. Here's the salad on my plate.

Janet Castro is the first couturier I inquired with regarding my bridal gown. I made the rounds with other wedding gown suppliers and I decided to get her. Janet is a breath of fresh air, she's so cheerful that she kinda give me this calmness everytime I visit her. I also appreciate her inputs regarding the gown of my choice. A lot of my friends liked my gown too.

Just a reminder, fit your gown at least a week before the big day. I think I had my last fitting two weeks before our wedding and I lost a bit of weight. The tube gown was kinda loose, had to pull it up several times.

Vienna Cakes

Jose and I decided to have mini fondant cakes instead of the traditional cake for our wedding. We wanted a cake that could also serve as a souvenir for the guests.

We booked Vienna cakes at the SMX Bridal Fair last March 2009. The sample cakes tasted good. We also got 10 free mini fondant cakes for booking on the spot in that bridal fair =)

We had 5 designs and 3 flavors for the fondant cakes. If my memory serves me right, we had carrot, banana and mocha flavor. These cute cakes also came with a free box =)

Picked-up our rings at My Diamond - Shangrila Mall this afternoon.

I'm happy with our rings. Who wouldn't be? We got it at 50% discount when we booked at a bridal fair. We paid for it in installment terms (3 months to be exact) at zero interest. They also send SMS for updates.

The rings are supposed to look like this, but we opted not to get the two-tone ring, we wanted the plain white gold.

I decided to use our pre-nup pictures as our table numbers. I "processed" the raw pictures sent by our photographer Edu Cortez using PhotoScape. I so love PhotoScape! =) I find it easier to use than other applications.

I'm done with 32 pictures. Next project is to have them printed and make them "stand". I'll be posting pictures once these pictures become Table Numbers =)

I showed the processed pictures to my office friends and they said they will choose the picture (table number) where they want to be seated hahaha!

The Prenup Experience

We had our Pre-nup (Engagement) Shoot yesterday at The Heirloom and UP Diliman. Our 3 photographers: Edu, Tata and Victor are so easy to work with. They're so patient too! Jose and I can't help but laugh everytime they ask us to pose with a serious face! I never imagined it'll be hard for a camera whore like me!

The Faceshop's Chief Make-Up Artist, Marge Apacible did my hair and make-up. I like her, she's so nice and I appreciate that she asks what I want and makes suggestions too. The make-up she used on me smelled so nice too =) Jose and I loved my make-up =) The make-up still looked nice at around 10:30PM (considering I have oily face)! Had to wash my face already to rest last night. I'm guessing even after 12midnight the make-up will still be fine given a few oil blotter touches.

Marriage License Application - Quezon City Hall

On applying for a Marriage License at Quezon City Hall...

Went to Quezon City Hall yesterday morning (it's already 1:53AM) with Jose to apply for a Marriage License. Took us almost 2 hours to file the application, could have done it in an a little over an hour if we came with all the required documents and if the instructions were more precise. In fairness to the City Hall employees (guards included), they we're all very helpful and accommodating.

Requirements for the application of Marriage License in Quezon City Hall (Window 10):

1. One of the applicants must be a resident of QC
2. Certified (NSO) True Copy of Birth Certificate, CENOMAR
3. Community Tax Certificate / Cedula (--> took us 15minutes to get this)
4. Colored or black and white ID pic of both applicants (-->submitted 1x1 colored ID pics)
5. Certificate of Family Planning (--->took us another 15minutes, walk included to get a schedule for the Seminar at the 2nd Floor of the Health Bldg. We'll be attending the seminar in 2 weeks time and the marriage License will be available the day after.)

Fees:
Application Form: Php50.00
Marriage License Application Fee: Php100.00
Marriage License : Php100.00

Note: Bring lose change for photocopying.

If you're saving up on leaves, only one of the couple can file the application and schedule the Family Planning Seminar, just make sure all the documents are complete.

Confirmation (Kumpil) : Check

Jose and I received the Sacrament of Confirmation this morning at the National Shrine of St. Michael and the Archangels.

Rev. Msgr. Severino G. Anatalio officiated the Ceremony. We attended the 9AM mass and proceeded to the 10:15 Confirmation. The priest pointed out that at 12 years old, kids are already receiving the sacrament of confirmation. I guess he was pretty disappointed coz half of the people there (guilty, Us included) were having themselves confirmed since it's a Church requirement for marriage.

Msgr. Anatalio's homily was also good. He said "A man without prayer, is like a tree without roots. And what happens to a tree without roots? It withers...". I think this is a quote he got from St. Augustine. I totally agree! He was a bit strict but everything he said was logical, he has a point.

If you're getting married and needs to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation (Kumpil), I'd recommend you have it at San Miguel Church. The National Shrine of St. Michael and the Archangels is located in Malacanang.

In My Life - made me cry buckets

Watched In My Life at Trinoma with office friends this evening. This movie is a tearjerker!

It's already 12midnight and my eyes are still puffy due to crying over this movie. Mind you, the movie started at 8pm and ended a little past 10pm.

Vilma, Luis and John Lloyd did a great acting job. The supporting actors also did well. Vice Ganda is so refreshing!=)

There are scenes that are so heartbreaking that I gushed in tears. I'm not an expert in reviewing movies, but this one is really worth your money.

Pre-nup / Pre-wedding / Engagement Shoot Venue

The search is on for our pre-nup venue...

Jose and I will be having our pre-nup shoot on October 6. We still have no venue, and it's less than a month to go before the pictorial!

Our photographer Edu of Extreme Details suggested we do it in Corregidor. Unfortunately we plan to use "props" and it might be difficult for us to bring it to Corregidor considering the ferry ride.

Shopping, good food and good friends

My office friends and I trooped to Greenhills after our early dismissal this afternoon. This is the second year we did this, I'm thinking this will be an annual thing =) Imagine 5 shopping crazed ladies in one car, all in hopes of finding great buys and looking forward to a hearty hot pot dinner after. Quite a sight. Also, annoying to the ear hahaha.

All five of us came out of the shopping area happy (with our purchases). We had dinner at Gloria Maris after 3 hours of shopping! Tin's choice of food was perfect. We were so full! Capped the night over a cup of coffee care of the very preggy Trixie. Eva got herself the mug she wanted. The Starbucks stint was filled with kwentos and funny hirits care of this year's driver Rose.

It's a delight to be shopping and dining with dear friends =)

French Net Sisses Mini EB

Met up with W@W sisses this afternoon at Coffee Bean in Trinoma for a mini EB.

Lyn, one of W@W's DIY queens distributed our french net orders. Being recently wed, she also served as our resource person. Everyone was ready with their pen and paper/notebook (cellphone). It was quite a sight when the brides-to-be all reached for their pen and paper to jot notes when Lyn started talking! It was like being in a mini-forum wherein Lyn was the speaker. Got a lot of tips from her and she was so nice to show us her wedding pictures. Thanks Sis!

Present were Lyn, Maan (ni King), Dah, Shens, Len (ni JR) and Len (ni Orj). Pinky also met up with us but left early.

Our Wedding Rings

Went to the Bridal Fair this afternoon at the NBC the Tent at The Fort.

Jose is not a fan of Bridal Fairs, he does not like cramped places, narrow hallways and a lot of people inching their way to their would be suppliers. I've been telling him about the fair after I got complimentary tickets from my officemate Mai. His usual reaction, uhmmm, deadma... more of he has no reaction...NR. I was glad he said yes to going to the fair when I sent him an SMS last night.

Fast forward to this afternoon...it was very humid...as in! When we got to the tent, his first reaction was... "Parang sa Mega". Not good, "Mega" was where we attended our 1st Bridal Fair. That fair was uber box-office, felt like we were inside the MRT/LRT on a rush hour! I had to check out the ring suppliers fast! First stop was Radiant, the guys manning the booth were very helpful, they had the style of the rings we wanted and the price is not bad. Next stop was V-Gem, the ladies manning the booth were very pleasant, they didn't have the design we want but were doing their best to have an idea as to how it looks like and the price was not bad too. Third and last stop, My Diamond...

The 50% discount poster at the My Diamond store caught my attention, who would miss that hehehe! We checked out the rings (a lot of designs hahaha). We were finally down to 2 designs and not one of them had the style I initially wanted (fickle hihihi, the 50% discount made me change my mind).

Pair#1: 5 stones for the bride, no stones for the groom - this Jose preferred coz of the width
Pair#2: 7 smaller stones for the bride, no stones for the groom - my pick, downside is it has smaller width than #1

Jose picked Pair#1, I picked Pair#2, what did we get?

Pair#2, Jose doesn't want me to rant, I've already set my mind on having 7 stones on my ring! =)

Maid of Honor's Gown Inspiration

My bestfriend Karen, who is based in the US will be my Maid of Honor. I couldn't think of anyone else who'd be deserving of that role on my wedding day. She's my bestest (if there's such a word) friend in the whole wide world! She'll be flying thousand of miles to be here on my big day, right Best?

Family Planning Seminar

I'm at a loss for words if this is how the seminar will be...

Hilarious!

Excerpts:

The highlight of the entire process was, funnily enough, the family planning seminar! H and I went, expecting to have a boring few hours ahead of us. But the minute the woman conducting the seminar (or "briefing" as she called it) said the word "t*t*," we knew we weren't in for a snooze-worthy biology lecture! I never thought I would hear that word said so many times in a seminar. I couldn't even bring myself to type it here. Haha.

The woman who conducted it was probably in her 40s, and she was so deadpan that it made what she was saying even more comical. Some gems:

Woman: Ang IUD po ay nilalagay sa matres ng babae. Ayaw po ito gamitin ng karamihan ng lalake kasi 'yung iba, natatakot daw na matusok ang t*t* nila. Sir, kita niyo naman kung nasaan ang IUD. Sa tingin niyo ba matutusok kayo diyan? Kung matusok pa kayo, matakot na kayo, hindi na kayo tao.

Adora Revilloza: Entourage Gown

We booked a new supplier today!=)

Last week, I posted a message at W@W asking for recommendations for an entourage gown maker. Several sisses replied, I wrote all their suggestions and told myself I will contact these suppliers and pay them a visit if the phone conversation turns out well. First and only call I made was for Adora Revilloza.

Tita Adora is one of the suppliers I shortlisted, actually, I already sent her an email last March regarding bridal and entourage gowns and she was very prompt in replying. I haven't gotten back to her after that since I already booked Janet Castro to do my gown. Since we only have 4 months to go before our big day, I feel that we have to book the entourage gowns supplier since we're already pressed for time.

This morning, Jose picked me up at a litle past 10am and off we went to Krus na Ligas, Quezon City to meet with Tita Adora. I only want to check out her creations. I have no plans of booking her yet since I still have several suppliers on my list. Besides, Jose was already a little upset due to traffic (what's new? lol) and the narrow streets on the way to Tita Adora was not helping (lines on Jose's forehead now visible, he's upset again, great!). I was already preparing myself that he'll suggest that we look for another supplier after this visit. When we finally got to Tita Adora's house, he asked me to go ahead and that he'll just look for a parking space.

Tita Adora is very pleasant and easy to deal with. Luckily, she had several gowns for delivery this afternoon, I was able to check out her actual creations.

One gown looked like this:

I'll have one of our bridesmaids wear a gown like that in this color combination:

While talking to Tita Adora I sent Jose this SMS: "I'm going to book her. I like her".

The search for our entourage gown supplier is over. I booked Tita Adora, after less than 30 minutes of meeting her for the first time.

Gowns will be made of satin, in midnight blue with cotton candy pink accent.

Measurements will be taken next week earliest. Speedy =p

Darn, my internet connection is super dooooper slllllooooowwwwww!!!!! I already called Sun Broadband and the customer agent said that their fixing something in my area. Connection will be good in 3 days. Helloooo, my connection has been like this for more than a week already! It'll be the 3rd day on Friday, let's see if my conection goes back to normal.

I asked Jose to accompany me in shopping for some stuffs. We met at up the mall, I was at Rustan's and he called, he said he was already there and he can't see me. How could that be, right floor, right section ,.... ooopps wrong department store! I erroneously texted him that I was at SM ha ha ha! Good thing we're at Ayala Center, he'll just have to walk around Glorietta (which is btw smaller now) to meet me.

I give him credit for tonight, (plucking him out from work and texting him to meet me at the wrong department store!) for coming to my rescue. Sleepless lass Jaki asked busy Jose to meet her at the mall so he can help her carry her shopping bag. Sweet! =)

Honoring Tita Cory (Corazon Cojuangco Aquino)

It's only but fitting that today was declared a holiday. Today, August 5, 2009 the Filipino people were given the chance to bid Corazon Cojuangco Aquino their last farewell and lay her to rest.

I was glued to the TV the whole day watching her funeral cortege. There was the 7o vehicle convoy, the sea of people awaiting her, walking from Manila Manila Cathedral to Manila Memorial amidst the rain and the flood, the 4 untiring honor guards standing on the moving truck for hours and the throng of humanity honoring Tita Cory.

Dear President Aquino, you indeed lived a good life! You are a true Filipino hero. You will be forever remembered. Thank God for the gift of you. Your name will forever be embedded in the word demOCRacY.

Jigs Mayuga : Make-up Artist

I'm so happy coz Jigs reconfirmed that he'll do my wedding make-up. =)

I admit, I'm so makulit, Jose, my h2b reminded me that Jigs already confirmed but I just wanted to be 100% sure that he has blocked off December 30. I've been bugging Jigs via SMS. Early this afternoon he posted a message in my Face Book wall, he said no worries and that Ney Guese will be doing my hair. Oh happiness!!! =)

Ramon Magsaysay Hall's Varnish Fix

Jose and I went to Ramon Magsaysay Hall to do an ocular. It was Jose who booked the venue, that's why I had no idea how the place looks like. I thought there was an event when I saw the doors of the hall open. Apparently, they were doing the yearly varnish fix of the wooden walls and ceiling. (That explains the face masks on the men we passed by along the side of the building). The manong in charge was so nice to accommodate us and let us check on the place, the smell of the varnish filled up the place, you'll notice the hazy thing in the pictures I took.

The varnish fix is good news, it'll definitely give our venue a better look =)

I almost got "high" from inhaling the varnish fumes!

Pre Cana Seminar

Jose and I agreed that he'll pick me up at 6am so we won't be stressed out by the traffic and be early for our 8am to 12noon Pre-Cana Seminar at San Agustin. We'll just have breakfast at Intramuros. Unfortunately I forgot to ask him to wake me up. Being the insomniac that I am, I slept at 1am already and overslept. I only woke up when I heard my mobile ringing, it was Jose and it was already 5:50am! I think it was already 6:20am when we left. We got to Intramuros around 6:50am and waited for Jollibee to open by 7am for our breakfast. Initial plan was to hang-out at Starbucks, unfortunately they open at 9am. We headed to San Agustin after breakfast. Since we were 15minutes early, we decided to take some pictures of the church.

Adamson University teacher Ate Babes was our resource person for the seminar. She was very knowledgeable and very nice. She spoke about the sacraments and zoned in on marriage. I will not discuss the details of the seminar. It's one enriching seminar that all couples who are getting married should really go through.

The 8am-12noon seminar ended earlier, I think around past 11am. We decided to go to the parish office and inquire about some stuffs. Ms. Belen asked us if we want to have our Canonical interview already which was due this October, since we were already there we decided to have the interview 3 months ahead of schedule...

I checked out 3 stores in Robinson's Place Malate for wedding rings.

I went to Robinson's Place Malate yesterday right after my work related seminar. I had no agenda and honestly I really had no plans of going there. I just went around the mall, checked out shops which caught my fancy (mostly shoe and clothes store). I didn't know it'll be this hard to find a wedding gown design/style! Surfing the net can be a pain sometimes, I always end up finding new gowns, just when I thought I already found "the gown"!

For now, I wanna wear a gown like this. It's a Vera Wang tube gown. I've seen several designer gowns, but this one really caught my eye!

Next project... look for a couturier / designer...

The Kind of Love I Want in my Life

I was browsing through my old emails and I came across this story forwarded to me by one of my friends. It's such a nice read... Heart warming, wish we can all have this kind of love...

It was a busy morning, approximately 8:30 am, when an elderly gentleman,
in his 80's, arrived to have sutures (stitches) removed from his thumb.
He stated that he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am. I
took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over
an hour before someone would to able to see him.
I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with
another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam it was well healed,
so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his
sutures and redress his wound.
While taking care of his wound, we began to engage in conversation. I
asked him if he had a doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in
such a hurry.
The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to
Eat breakfast with his wife.
I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for
a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer Disease.
As we talked, and I finished dressing his wound, I asked if she would be
worried if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he
was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.
I was surprised, and asked him. "And you still going every morning, even
though she doesn't know who you are?
"He smiled as he patted my hand and said... "She doesn't know me, but I
still know who she is."
I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and
thought, "That is the kind of love I want in my life."
True love is neither physical, nor romantic.
True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will
not be.

Trip to Robinson's Place Malate

I'm a Mall Rat.

My weekend is not complete if I don't go to the Mall. Last Saturday I decided to go to Robinson's Place Malate instead of Trinoma or SM North. The Mall was huge, some areas are still under renovation (construction?), but I didn't mind, I went around and still checked out the shops.

Passed by a bakeshop and their bread and pastries looked yummy so I decided to buy some. While waiting for my turn to pay, I can't help but overhear (ha ha ha chismosa ako) the conversation of the cashier and the old lady infront of me (ang tagal kasi). I can't count how many times the old lady asked how much her discount was, of course that set me off to listen more (uyyy may discount!), the thing is, 'twas a senior citizen discount pala ha ha ha. When they were done talking about the discount the old lady then started asking how come the establishment wasn't observing earth hour. Naku, kanina discount, now naman earth hour. I wanted to butt in and say that if the Mall will turn the lights out it will be too dark and we won't be able to find our way inside the Mall, hello! As in Hello! As expected, the cashier told her exactly the answer I had in mind. Buti naman! And after that the old lady left, yehey, my turn to pay, finally.

Malling at Trinoma

Got home past 11pm, went malling with my mom, sisters and nephew. Had dinner at North Park, we had to wait for around 10 minutes to be seated, there were so many people waiting, I think we were the 5th to get a table. We had to wait for another 15 minutes for the main course. We were so hungry we finished off the food in no time he he he =)

Went to Time Zone afterwards and used up the Php100 I loaded in my Power Card, fun!!! I'll be posting pics later =)

To cap the night, went to Krispy Creme and brought home donuts. =)

What Am I Doing Here?

I created this blogsite to keep myself busy since I don't get much Zzzzzzs, I normally sleep at 2am during weekdays and wake at 5:30am to go to work. Yup that's normal for me.

In need to quit playing games (computer games ha ha ha =p). I had my sister install tons of games in my laptop... got hooked playing Dinner Dash, Pizza Frenzy and Chocolatier ( I already finished all levels!) . Blogging might just do the trick =)

I'm figuring out my way here. Cut me some slack in the meantime for the stuffs I'm posting and will be posting. Honestly, I don't know what I'm doing! I'm now busy exploring...
